Meg's update:9-6-2012: Working Group on Girls

The Fall Season has once again brought us together to share ideas and prepare for an exciting new program for 2012=2013.  The WGG is training and mentoring girls (freshmen, sophomores or juniors in high school to advocate on behalf of girls within the United Nations system; this is done through WGG task forces, Girl Advocates and Girls Participation. Each year we invite girls to become involved in the CSW at the UN.  We are now preparing for the 57th session of the CSW, 4 to 15 March, 2013.  Our overall goals are to include our youth in training and participation for they are our future leaders.
A special guest at today's meeting was HRH Princess Basmah Bint Saud, from Suadi Arabia.  She was passionate as she spoke of her awakening at the age of 40; she had to embark upon a journey of reform, one that promoted respct and freedoms within all societies and between genders.  "I have taken upon myself this responsibility and invite you to join me on this momentous journey to promote peace, prosperity and dignity, not war".  The Princess asked for our cooperation in this endeavour, and promised to assist us in like pursuits.
