The meetings in Belgium were intense but good. During the week, there were four separate major meetings and a number of smaller committee meetings. I never fail to be impressed with the amazing work being done around the world by Pax Christi sections and member organizations. A portion of the meeting was pretty bleak because we had to look hard at the dreadful financial situation that everyone is in, but then we moved from one major issue to another - nuclear disarmament, small arms and cluster bombs, the Middle East, Africa, Iraq, Pakistan, peace education...
The executive committee (equivalent to the board) is especially interesting because they come from all over the world and are extraordinary people in their own right.
We have begun to gather stories to form the basis of a theology of peace that reflects Pax Christi's experience. Should be interesting
