Meg' s update: Working Group on Girls: 10-4-12

Updates on key meetings at the U.N.were shared by the our co-chairs, Winifred & Beth. At the 67th Session of the GA, 3rd Committee's agenda will focus on the Rights of the Child.  UNICEF has taken partnerships to be at the heart of their programs for chldren; the 'Scaling Up Nutition' movement has placed the issue of under-nutrition on the global agendas with pledges from 26 developing countries. Oct. 11th, International Day of the Girl, the Virtual Summit goes live at 7:pm featuring profiles of inspirational girls around the world; interactive challenges to help girls raise awareness in local communities; in a word "Celebrate the Girl Child" in voice and song.
