Meg's update: Oct. 11th; Harmful Practices in Legal Systems

The launching of the 2012 report, "Harmful Practices in Legal Systems" with special emphasis on Africa, brought together outstanding experts to address the many ways in which children are especially vulnerable,
i.e. children used in witchcraft rituals, honor killings, acid attacks, FGM, and many others forms of offense against a child's basic human rights. To correct such offenses and bring about social change, legislation needs to be supported by: education through awareness campaigns, capacity building of persons working with children,  and correction of cultural norms that violate
a child's dignity and integrity of person.  Gov'ts must be held responsible for conventions signed onto.
