Today's prayerful event was sponsored by Religions for Peace and the Arigtou International as we prepare to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child at the UN on Friday. Prayers and petitions were offered by representatives from UNICEF, World Council of Churches, Holy See Mission to the UN, Judaism, Islamic Cultural Centre, and Buddhist International. The offerings from each person reflected the oneness in heart and spirit as each of us committed to continue our pursuit of peace and protection for the precious gift that children are to our world.
In the words of the poet, Tagore, "Every child comes with the message that Gid is not yet discourged of man".
