Meg's update: Oct. 20th: Forum for Beijing +15

Forum preparations for Beijing + 15, February 27-28 is a work in progress. Today's meeting looked at possible themes to be addressed during the Breakout Sessions during these two days. Surfaced issues were: Report on the State of the World's Women and Girls; Impact of World Economic Crisis, Climate Change and Women, the Girl-Child in Armed Conflict as one of several issues relating to the Girl-Child, Building women's leadership, the GEAR newly acclaimed initiative; CEDAW and other reporting mechanisms. Attention will be given also as to how far we have come in realizing the MDG commitments. Importantly, recommendations from the Regional Reports will be presented as vital pieces, together with recommendations from the breakout sessions, making up the final document - Call to Action. The Forum will be held at The Salvation Army Headquarters in lower Manhattan.
