Meg's update: October 2nd: Religion for Peace

The purpose of today's meeting was to put in place a tentative agenda for the official launching and way forward for the Religions for Peace NORTH AMERICAN WOMEN OF FAITH NETWORK. The Theme: "Restoring Dignity - Different Faiths, Common Action".
The Restoring Dignity Forum will be convened on March 1-2, 2010 to showcase the leadership taken by inter-faith communities in advancing efforts to end violence against women and to build synergies on Beijing+15 with the United Nations and other civil society movements. The events will feature a brief history of the Network, objectives and goals, mobilizing more women
of faith as active promoters in building peace, protecting our earth, and promoting just and harmonious societies. The two day forum will feature prayers from different traditions, cultural events, and a closing dinner. On November 25th, International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women a world-wide campaign to join in a minute of silence in reflecting upon the dignity of women and children, and to stop violence agains them.
